I have always loved football since I was a small child. But I am super excited to see Jari take interest on football as well. His interest in football started just this season, but over the summer he has watched so much African Cup of Nations, Women’s World Cup, Copa America, Concaf Gold Cup and U21 World Cup. Off course, we have signed him up to play football as well.
I am a seasoned security and policy analyst on the Horn of Africa and Great Lakes regions. I have represented various organizations as an expert on these regions at the UN, the State Department, and other various foras as well as in the international media. I have authored and contributed to numerous policy briefings, reports, and articles on conflict and security in East Africa. My background as a journalist in this region has afforded me a large network of contacts I rely on in my work. I am fluent in English, Kiswahili, and various other local dialects and have a working knowledge of Arabic and French. My professional experience was enhanced by my academic research while obtaining my Master's Degree in International Security Policy at Columbia University.
